Mechanical Engineer graduated from Texas A&M University, MBA (Summa Cum Laude) at INCAE and studies at Harvard University JFK School in Banking for Micro Enterprises. He is the founder and former Chairman of the Board of Banco del Exito (BANEX), previously Findesa, the largest Micro Finance Institution in Nicaragua.
He has experience as Chairman or Senior Manager at Budget Rent a Car of El Salvador and Nicaragua, Holiday Inn Select Managua, Procter & Gamble in United States and Florida Department of Transportation. Previous positions include: Member of the Advisory Council of FMO Bank; President of Civic Group Ethics and Transparency, a chapter of Transparency International; Senior Advisor to Green Microfinance; Investment Committee member of Deutsche Bank Global Commercial Microfinance Consortium; Editorial Board Member of MicroBanking Bulletin; President of INDE, Vice-president of Supreme Private Enterprise Council COSEP; Banco Nicaraguense (BANIC); INATEC; Segurossa, among others.
Currently Chairs Home of Hope, an NGO that provides free shelter and food to poor cancer children, is a Board Member of INCAE, the best business school of Latin America, and is Treasurer of the Harvard Club of Nicaragua. Martin Vargas Mantica VP Business Development Mr. Vargas has a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic University, a post graduate degree from INCAE Business School and an MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University.Mr. Vargas has over 18 years of business experience, having launched and organized several successful startups in the Central American region. He is a shareholder, former director and audit committee president at Banco del Exito, the largest microfinance bank in Nicaragua. He currently seats on the boards of Companies such as VSN Seguridad, PROVAL S.A., Grupo Servicorp and casa de vida, an NGO that provides economic and spiritual support to single mothers during their pregnancy and post birth.
Mr. Vargas also served as a Director in INDE (Nicaraguan Institute of Entrepreneurship Development), INATEC (National Institute of Technology), CPC (Presidential Committee of Competitiveness) and was President of the Nicaraguan Chamber of Commerce from 2003 to 2005. Carlos Sandoval has a B.S. in Accounting from Florida International University in Miami, Florida and OneMBA, an executive global program from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Carlos has over 15 years experience in accounting, finance and working for multinationals in a variety of industries. He has managed the finance department of companies in USA and Europe such as Panalpina, Inc (largest multinational in Switzerland), and assistant comptroller for Fuel Services, Inc (NYSE:INT), and comptroller for several companies in the United States with international operations.
Carlos is very active in many professional events at professional organizations in the USA (Interamerican Accounting Association, Asociación de Latinos de Profesionales de Contabilidad y Finanzas (ALPFA) and National Society of Hispanic MBA´s (NSHMBA). Carlos was born in Perú and has lived in Bolivia, The Netherlands and USA, having worked in Asia, Europe and Latin America. He was the comptroller of the Investment Division of Bank of America. As Vice-president of strategic diversity for Wachovia Bank, now Wells Fargo, is part of the Investment Management Division.
As part of Social responsibility, he created the chapter of Latin Professionals in Finance and Accounting. He has great passion to support small and medium businesses through his volunteering at Community Anchors. He has also been a mentor of several Latin-American businesses through Endeavour in NY. Carlos, his wife Susana and son Diego Alonso live in Ft. Lauderdale.. Guillermo Jacoby CTO Industrial Engineer graduated from Northeastern, University in Boston, Massachusetts, MBA (Magna Cum Laude) at INCAE. He was the former Science and Technology Secretary and Chief Technology Advisor to the President of Nicaragua, former Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the Government of Nicaragua.
He has experience as Senior Manager at LandTerra Sourcing and LandTerra Nicaragua and the Palazio Group and Chairman of Ostuma Farms, Kpelo and La Sombrita del Camino. Previous Positions include: President of INDE, Vice-president of Supreme Private Enterprise Council COSEP, President of Junior Achievement of Nicaragua, President of INCAE’s Alumnae Association and Board Member of INCAE and Dean of Engineering of the Universidad Americana. He has international experience and was Vice-president of the World Summit for the Information Society and Spokesman for the Latin American and the Caribbean Countries (GRULAC) in the United Nations, Geneva, Switzerland during the negotiations that led to the Summit. He was ITC Consultant to the Nigerian Government under USAID funding and World Bank’s ITC Consultant for the Nicaraguan Government. Currently he is Dean of Engineering at the American College and Vice-President of the Producers and Exporters Association of Nicaragua. Xavier Arguello VP Human Development Xavier is the president of a cluster of very successful businesses in the USA, Mexico and Central America. His businesses include product commercialization, training and human development. He has been Director General of businesses in different countries, establishing and achieving important growth and development. He has been an advisor to multinationals in USA, Mexico and Central America, such as IBM, Bellsouth, Coca Cola, Maseca, Banco de Mexico, among others. He has experience in Upper Management, Sales, Marketing and operations. He has specialized in Ontological Coaching and advisory services for over 10 years. He is has a B.S. in Finance and a B.A. in International Commerce, both from Florida International University, and many courses in Organizational and Human Development both in the USA as well as England.
